Las Vegas - Top 5 Things To Do

Hello!
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was pretty uneventful; I worked and I've been trying to get rid of a cold. :( Fortunately I have a very short work week this week because Tuesday night I'm going to....Las Vegas! I'm officially starting to get excited about my trip, even more so now that I'm writing this post. Ha!
I've been to Vegas multiple times (this will be my fifth trip!) and each time is like a new experience. There's always a new hotel to check out, a new restaurant to try or a new show to see.  This trip is no different, I already have a list of things that I want to do that I haven't experienced yet!
One thing that isn't on my list is gambling. Ironically I love to go Las Vegas but I hate to gamble. I just can't comprehend why someone can sit at a slot machine or a card table and lose tens, hundreds, even thousands of dollars! No thank you! I will sit at a slot machine play the video blackjack for maybe 2-3 turns and then I'm done (and also slightly depressed I lost $5.00 in minutes). I think I spend like $30 dollars my entire trip on gambling. I rather spend my money on cocktails and food! :)
I thought I would share with you my top five things I like to do in Las Vegas (that doesn't involve gambling).
5. Shopping
I don't necessarily go shopping to "buy" things in Vegas, but it is definitely a fun place to browse. Your shopping options are endless. You can visit higher end stores such as, GucciYSLChanel, which I know I can't afford, but I like to look around and dream, or go to the Fashion Show Mall or even outlets. There are a lot of variety of stores in each hotel. My favorite place to shop is the Forum Shoppes at Caesar's Palace, which has a mix of reasonably priced stores (The Gap and H&M) as well as higher end stores (Chloe and Louis Vuitton). The Grand Canal Shoppes in the Venetian and Palazzo are also cool because there's a canal that runs through where people can take gondola rides.
4. Spas
Vegas has some of the best spas in the country, so if you have time I suggest you try one out. I had my first official "spa experience" the last time I went to Vegas and it was glorious! I actually went to two different spas on my mini vacation. It was definitely relaxing and a nice change of pace to get out of the crowds and over stimulation of the Vegas Strip. I went to Qua's Bath's and Spa at Caesar's Palace (you'll see a recurrent theme of Caesar's...it's by far my most favorite hotel in Vegas) and the Canyon Ranch SpaClub. For both of the spas I got a day pass and came and went as I pleased. I enjoyed two days of pampering myself my going into the saunas, hot tubs and hot/coldshowers.
3. Shows
Of course shows made my list! There are tons, I mean TONS of shows in Vegas. As soon as you get off of the plane you'll see advertisements everywhere of what is playing. There are comedy, magic, dance, Cirque du Soleili, concerts, and burlesque shows...just to name a few. I've only had the opportunity to go to two shows. I've seen Jabbawockeez which is a men's dance group and Cirque du Soleili "O", both were amazing (my husband really liked both of them too...at least that's what he told me). A couple shows that are one my list to see are: AbsintheCirque du Soleili "Ka", any magic show and Le Reve - The Dream. I don't have any specific plans to see a show for my upcoming trip, but I hope I get to go to one.
2. Sight Seeing
This is a given when staying on the Vegas Strip. I recommend going into every hotel that you can because each one is very unique. A must is going to see the fountains at the Bellagio which are synchronized to music, going on the roller coaster that goes through inside and on top of the  New York New York Hotel and Casino, and going to the Stratosphere Observation Deck at night to see all the lights on the Vegas Strip.  Also go to Freemont Street and see the iconic Golden Nugget Hotel and Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel.
1. Restaurants
Restaurants are definitely my number one favorite thing to do in Vegas. There are soooo many restaurants that I want to try, but there's just not enough time. I don't even know where to begin with this topic....there are buffets, AMAZING buffets with seafood, steak, sushi, pasta, desserts...anything you want. There are restaurants from the top chefs in the world (Wolfgang Puck, Giada, Emeril, Gordon Ramsey, Bobby Flay, Guy Savoy just to name a few). The options of dining out (what to eat/where to eat/price point) are endless. Here are some of my favorite places I've been: Joe's , Holsteins (best burger), Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's PalaceGiada De Laurentiis, and Sushi Roku. I think no matter where you choose to eat, you won't be disappointed.

Have you ever been to Vegas? What do you like to do?
Until next time...
